ShEconomics

In 2003, ASKI Global CEO Ms. Irma Cosico – who was with ABS-CBN Bayan Foundation then – was invited to speak to OFWs in Hong Kong about the provision of microinsurance to small women-entrepreneurs. The main speaker at that time was Dr. Carlito “Carl” Balita, who was handling the radio-television show about capacity building of OFWs in Hong Kong. On August 19 2013, ten years after their initial meeting, Ms. Cosico met with Dr. Carl Balita again at a dinner party hosted by Her Excellency Ambassador Minda Calaguian-Cruz. The soiree was attended by invited guests from the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the National Library of the Philippine and embassy partners in Singapore.

During their meeting, Ms. Cosico came to know of Dr. Balita’s new initiatives in the field of Wealth Creation and Business.  She was also given a copy of his latest book, ‘Prosperity’. The book teaches its readers how to live their lives in the very essence of the word. It will provide answers to the obstinate and gripping question we all have: “What do I have to do to be successful?”

Widely regarded as The Philippines’ “Entrepinoy Guru”, Dr. Balita is also known as the “man who can electrify the crowds and bring audience on their feet,” according to the Asian Wall Street. Ms. Cosico and Dr. Balita, both advocates on issues related to improving the lives of OFWs, have been working on a myriad of issues involving policy making and capacity building as well as inculcating the entrepreneurship mindset in the OFWs.

Catch Dr. Carl Balita on Sunday, September 15 2013 at the National University of Singapore as he shares tips on what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur and make significant impacts on one’s family, employee and community. Definitely, Dr. Carl Balita is a real ‘ShEconomist’.
